Coaching Information Packet

Following is general information for MCPS Coaches regarding program implementation. Coaches are responsible for reviewing and being knowledgeable on the following items:

Coach Resources and Responsibilities 

Middle and high school coaches are responsible for adhering to and implementing information included in the following resources:

• Sport-specific MCPS procedures described in the Standards section of the MCPS High School or Middle School Athletics Handbook.
• General MCPS rules and procedures described in the MCPS High School or Middle School Athletics Handbook and on the MCPS Athletics web page
• National rules and procedures described in the appropriate NFHS rule book for a particular sport.

High school coaches are also accountable for adhering to and implementing information included in the following resources:

Varsity coaches are responsible for the entire program and must communicate countywide expectations to all team personnel, including junior varsity and assistant coaches, volunteer coaches, and student-athletes.
